Jennifer Connelly
Jennifer Connelly stands among the most arresting dramatic actors of her generation, a performer who turns interior pain into something you cannot look away from. She started as a child model and broke through in Labyrinth (1986), then grew into serious work with Requiem for a Dream (2000), won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for A Beautiful Mind (2001), and continued through House of Sand and Fog (2003), Blood Diamond (2006), and the Top Gun: Maverick (2022) revival. Connelly picks roles that ask her to suffer beautifully on camera, and she delivers every time.
Connelly works the screen with a stillness that pulls the camera toward her face. The dark hair, pale skin, and famous green eyes give her a pre-Raphaelite quality that directors have used since her teens, framed in close-up during Marion’s tears in Requiem and again as Alicia Nash holding the family together in A Beautiful Mind. She continues to headline prestige projects, playing Penny Benjamin in the Top Gun sequel and starring in the Snowpiercer series on TNT and AMC through its 2024 finale.
